Subheads

Subhead Use and Description

  • Subheads are used to separate sections of a major theme. On a web page the headline is usually used to define the major topic or feature of the page and subheads are used to break the page into readable chunks.
  • Subheads can also be used to feature certain aspects of the page which otherwise might not get the attention they deserve.
  • Subheads can also be used as breaks in a long text file. Because they do not allow for many words, headlines and subheads should be either descriptive or in the active voice (as in Product Features or Read Me or Don't Forget Our Partners Program).

Add Subhead Button and Use

  • The Add Subhead button will create a colored, text element which is larger than the regular text which can then be further modified using the element controls which are immediately below the Subhead text box. Whatever is typed into the Subhead text box can then be Previewed, using the blue Preview button at the bottom left of the editor window, or it can be Published, using the green Publish button right below the Preview button.
  • When you push Publish you are creating the code and placing it on the web server.
  • When you push Preview you are displaying the expected results from your previous actions but no changes will occur to the actual web server.
  • Preview is useful for testing new ideas.
  • Publish is useful if you're on a roll and you know what you're doing.
