Bullets (bulleted text)
Bulleted Text Use and Description
- There are two different kinds of text fields to choose from. Regular text fields allow you to provide a paragraphic appearance and will preserve double carriage returns as open white space between paragraphs.
- Bulleted text fields will place a "bullet" (a dark blob) before the first letter following a carriage return. Use bulleted text to itemize a list, such as this one.
- Use bullets when you want the text field to have the appearance of a list or the appearance of an indented, itemized, set of words.
- Other uses of text fields include embedding text along with HTML tags in HTML elements. See the section on Add HTML for additional information or Advanced Features for further guidance.
Add Bullets Button and Use
- The Add Bullets button will add a text field to your page. Use the element controls (see button description at right in sidebar) to move the bulleted text field up or down and to add or remove space between it and the element above it.
- Both regular text (Add Text) and bullets (Add Bullets) can be used for any text requiements. They are both identical in how you create and edit text. The only difference is the presentation of the text on the web page.
- To create a more obvious separation between text fields use the Add Rule button to create a thin line below the text field (it can be moved using the element controls "move up" and "move down" buttons and more space can be created between the rule and the text field by using the element controls "more space" button).
- You can always make text in a bulleted text box bold or italicized by putting <B> in front of the word you want bolded and </B> after. You are turning bold on with the first set of brackets and off with the second set. The same is true for italics, this time use <I> and </I>.
- You can also create white space between bullets by adding an extra carriage return (blank line) above a bulleted item.
- This can make bulleted paragraphs, especially longer ones, easier to read.
